University of Georgia- Extension

Working at the University of Georgia Extension as a summer intern, I have had the privilege of gaining a diverse range of experience. From collaborating with county extension agents to design and deliver educational programs, to engaging with various communities and audiences to provide research-based information, my work has been multifaceted and engaging. I got exposed to the working of the major areas of extension: agricultural and natural resources (ANR), family and consumer sciences (FACS), and the 4-H and youth development. Some of the most rewarding and cherishing experiences were to work with the youth at the Georgia 4-H Youth Summer Camp at Rock Eagle, delivering information on healthy eating and food safety to children at the Bethesda Summer Camp, assisting county agents with the Georgia Master Gardener Training program and pesticide application training, and working with the Gwinnett County Water Resources Department (DWR) to improve my understanding of the stormwater best management practices and stream restoration projects in the Gwinnett County.
